Manual Therapy refers to therapy techniques that are "hands-on". Our facility offers Myofascial Release, CranioSacral Therapy, Muscle Energy, Visceral Manipulation, Nutritional Response Testing and Unified Bodywork.

Nutritional Response Testing

Nutritional Response Testing is a comprehensive muscle testing session that checks the body for food sensitivities, chemicals or heavy metal toxicity, immune challenges (pollen, mold, etc.) and emotional stress. The session includes a full body scan, through muscle testing, a toxicity questionnaire and a follow-up program of appropriate supplements to help negate the effects of these stressors.

CranioSacral Therapy

What is CranioSacral Therapy (CST)?

  • A gentle and effective way of working with the Cranium, Sacrum and Dura of the spinal column to release tension and enhance relaxation.
  • This technique uses gentle pressure (the weight of a nickel) to facilitate change in these areas.
  • CranioSacral Therapy is done while you are fully clothed lying on a massage table.

What conditions may be improved with CranioSacral Therapy?

Because of its influence on the central nervous system it can help with a wide range of conditions:

  • Chronic pain that has not been aided by other approaches.
  • Stress related dysfunctions (stress, insomnia, fatigue, anxiety, poor digestion)
  • TMJ (Temporal Mandibular Joint Dysfunction)
  • Headaches
  • Learning disabilities in children
  • Often beneficial to those with head, neck and back injuries

What can you expect for the first CranioSacral Therapy (CST) session?

After taking a medical history and becoming acquainted with your individual needs the therapist will begin treatment. Each session can be extremely different from person to person. Sometimes you may experience deep relaxation, possibly falling asleep, or at other times you may talk a lot. Some people will remain still the entire session hardly noticing anything at all, while others will experience a multitude of sensations within their body. Reduction of pain or increase of functionality may happen immediately or gradually over the course of the following week.

Myofascial Release

What is Myofascial Release?

  • A gentle and highly effective technique to help balance soft tissues.
  • Your therapist may use stretching and pressure (may be gentle to heavy) to release fascial restrictions.
  • This technique is used to eliminate pain and help restore motion.
What conditions may be improved from Myofascial Release?
  • Chronic pain conditions due to trauma or dysfunctional tissue patterns
  • Acute pain due to accidental injury
  • TMJ (Temporal Mandibular Joint Dysfunction)
  • Post surgical scar tissue problems
What is "Fascia"?

If you could imagine a lady's nylon stocking that began at the top of your head and ended at your feet you will begin to understand fascia. This substance is a very dense covering for every muscle, nerve, bone and organ in our bodies. New research shows it may even wrap around each individual cell body. Even though it wraps around each of these structures it is still only one sheath that continues without interruption from head to foot. When everything is in a "normal" healthy state this fascia is relaxed and wavy and can move and stretch without restriction. When we experience trauma, inflammation, or even just habitual poor posture, it can cause the fascia to lose its pliability it can become tight and a source of tension for the body. Myofascial works helps to release these restrictions and therefore restore our normal mobility.

Unified Bodywork

We are expanding the healing paradigm to not only include the self, but the larger self which includes relationships you may have with others. We are offering treatments that will be done with a loved one, this can include: a significant other, a co-worker, a friend, a family member, anyone whom you wish to strengthen a bond or work on an intended issue with.

The sessions will be done with two tables next to each other with both people being treated simultaneously. Anything can be accomplished working as one. People can share their experiences, wisdom and love, and we can open up to each other in ways that bring trust, harmony and healing. Ultimately, we hope to achieve greater communication, to develop oneness and help you to awaken to a deeper level of human awareness by listening to your hearts.
